A new 518-unit multi-family development called Urban East is set to break ground in Austin, Texas. The development is located on East Riverside Drive, near the intersection with Montopolis Drive. It is expected to be completed in early 2023.
Urban East will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Approximately 80% of the units will be one-bedroom, with an average size ranging from 750 to 800 square feet. The development will also have a number of amenities, including two resort-style swimming pools, a dog park, a fitness center, and a coffee bar.
Urban East is being developed by River City Capital Partners, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin, Battery Global Advisors, and LDG Development. The development is part of the East Riverside Opportunity Zone, which is a federal program that provides tax breaks to developers who invest in certain areas.
Urban East is expected to provide much-needed housing in Austin, which is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. The development is also expected to create hundreds of jobs during construction and operation.
